Crictime (play.crictime.is) has no accounts, no registration and no forms that ask who you are. Some data is still handled whenever anyone opens a web page or plays a stream. This policy lists it, says who handles it, and sets out your options.
The site is operated by Crictime. You can reach us at [email protected].
Access logs. Our web server records each request: IP address, time, the address requested and the browser's user-agent string. The logs exist for operating the site and investigating misuse, and they are deleted on a rolling basis.
The stream token. Playing a match needs a token. The page derives it from a one-way hash of your IP address together with the date, and your phone sends it to the video servers with each request for video. Your address cannot be read back from the token, and we keep no copy of it.
Visitor statistics. Google Analytics tells us how many people use the site and what they do on it. It stores cookies whose names start with _ga and passes Google details of your visit, among them a truncated IP address. Google explains its side in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics storage is switched off by default. Anyone can block it with Google's opt-out add-on.
Advertising. Ads pay for the site. They come from third-party advertising networks whose code runs on our pages. Those networks may set their own cookies, read device and browser details, and open an advertiser's page in a new tab when you tap. We do not pass them your name or any account details, because we have none.
Viewer-to-viewer video. Streams are delivered partly peer to peer. Using WebRTC, your browser may receive pieces of the video from other people watching the same match and pass pieces on to them. While that happens, those viewers and the peer-to-peer service we use can see your public IP address, and the service receives technical data such as your browser type and transfer timings. Passing video on uses upload data. This is built into how the streams work and has no off switch; if you would rather not take part, please don't play the streams.
Network protection. Traffic to the site goes through Cloudflare, which sees your IP address and request details in order to deliver pages and stop attacks.
_ga, _ga_*: Google Analytics, kept for up to two years.sc_quality (local storage): the stream quality you last picked, so the site can use it again. It never leaves your phone.Clearing your browser's site data removes all of them. The match list and the player do not depend on cookies.
Data-protection law in the EEA, the UK and some other places lets you ask what personal data an operator holds about you, have it corrected or erased, and object to certain uses. With no accounts, what we hold is normally limited to short-lived server logs. Write to us and you will get an answer.
The site is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger than 16.
When what the site collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated.
